Whether your ancestors lived in Ontario County, or beyond, this workshop will give you plenty of ideas on how, and where, to find different types of genealogical records that can be applied to searches in other counties.
Presented by Ontario County Historical Society (OCHS) and Canandaigua Chapter NSDAR, in collaboration with Ontario County Records and Archives, this workshop will inform you on what resources are available at OCHS and the County Archives, and how they can help you with your research. In addition, DAR members will explain the information that can be gleaned from Federal and NYS censuses, and what can be obtained through municipal clerks. A brief tour of the OCHS archives and research room will be included in the program.
Participants should bring their own electronic device to work directly with DAR volunteer genealogists for the second half of the program.
This workshop is geared toward participants 14 years old and older. Class size is limited to 15. Please call OCHS to reserve your spot by November 5, 2026 at 585-395-4975.
