From 1852-1872 Caroline Cowles Richards kept an extensive diary detailing her life growing up in mid-nineteenth century Canandaigua. Towards the end of her life, she published her diaries as the delightful book Village Life in America. This tour highlights historic houses with stories of their residents and Canandaigua’s past as filtered through Carrie’s eyes.

This 1-hour tour begins and ends at the Gibson Street Park, bordered by Park Street and Gibson Street in Canandaigua, NY. The tour is offered rain or shine! Donations support OCHS.
