Today we have modern medical facilities, state-of-the-art treatments, and highly trained specialists to helps us care for our bodies and minds. The landscape of medical knowledge and practices has changed drastically since the 19th and early-20th century!
If you were living in Ontario County at that time, what type of healthcare would you have received? Who would you have turned to for medical advice and treatment? Had you suffered from serious physical or mental illness, what facilities would you have been taken to? In our new exhibit, you can explore prevailing medical theories of the time through our featured artifacts, photos, and archival items.
