Commemorating Emancipation Day

Co-sponsored by 1816 Farmington Quaker Meetinghouse and Ontario County Historical Society, this event will take place at Austin Steward’s gravesite with Preston Pierce, Ontario County Historian; Chester Freeman, who arranged the historic marker for Steward; Robin Nowell from AKWAABA, appearing as her ancestor Nancy Tolliver; and members of Rochester Women’s Community Chorus to commemorate the end of slavery in the British Empire.
