Join us for a 3-part series with Megan Kirkpatrick featuring Civil War Era letters from the OCHS collection!

Day One (Saturday, January 11):
An overview of found poetry and its various forms.

Day Two (Saturday, January 18):
A lesson on the methodology for transcription, followed by transcribing Civil War era letters.

Day Three (Saturday, January 25):
Finish transcriptions and compose your own found poem, followed by a class workshop.

Class participants are invited and encouraged to participate in a special April program celebrating National Poetry Month and the 160 anniversary of General Robert E. Lee’s surrender to Lt. General Ulysses S Grant. Registrants should be able to attend all three classes. Ability to read cursive is recommended for best experience.

Registration payment must be received by January 8 to reserve your spot.
