Join Ontario County Historical Society at 2pm on April 18, 2026 for a matinee viewing of our short documentary film examining the history of Roseland Park and discover why we’re still Remembering Roseland. William Muar opened the gates to Roseland in 1925, giving Canandaigua its very own amusement park. Roseland was a premier attraction for sixty years before closing in September 1985. Now, forty years later, Roseland’s history remains beloved in Canandaigua and beyond. The short film features perspectives obtained during recent interviews, with thoughts on the new “Ghost of Roseland” sculpture at the north shore, employment at the park, lakeshore development, and the production of the book, Roseland: Playground of the Finger Lakes (2007).
This event will be held at Cobblestone Arts Center, located at 1622 Route 332 in Farmington, NY.
Tickets will be available at the door. General Admission will be $10.
