March 12
| 12:00 pm

Join us for a Lunchtime History Talk presented by Donna Hill-Herendeen. The presentation is a description of why there was a migration from the colonies after the Revolution to the west of New York and who the first arrivals were, using Farmington and Manchester as examples.

After Donna’s retirement, she served the Town of Farmington in several capacities that would significantly impact the preservation of Farmington’s historic resources. She filled the roles of town historian for 12 ½ years, Board Officer for the Seneca Chapter DAR for 6 years, Cemetery Manager for the South Farmington Cemetery Association for 10 years, and 9 years as a Board Officer for the South Farmington Chapel.

Among her many accomplishments in these roles, Donna spearheaded the challenge to save two of the last three historic public buildings left in Farmington- the South Farmington Chapel, and the Grange Building. She also co-authored a book titled “They Fought for Independence: Revolutionary War Veterans and Their Impact on Farmington, NY.”
