This short-term exhibit will feature a collection of student poems created by Canandaigua Middle School Writing Workshop students. In recognition of America’s 250th, these students reflected on their own lives in response to examining historical documents highlighting the history of our area. Using their original writing, and excerpts from local historical documents, students crafted poems that connect present day life in Canandaigua with the community’s historical roots, showing how life has changed, but in some ways remains the same.
