OCHS is using recently awarded grant funds to redirect the downspouts on our historic building, which will be tied into the City of Canandaigua’s storm water system. Ulana Fuller, OCHS Executive Director, says, “This has been a much needed, first step project to mitigate stormwater issues on our property and along the foundation of our historic building.”
The Ontario County Historical Society’s museum at 55 N Main St, Canandaigua was built in 1914 and designed by famed Rochester architect Claude Bragdon. The Society received a $5,000 grant award from the Rochester Area Community Foundation’s Vitality Grants: Preserving Historical Assets.
“This project will also provide safer access during winter months, particularly along our driveway, where we have had significant and dangerous ice build-up. I’m thrilled to have the support of RACF for this project. It’s a benefit to us and to the community,” added Fuller.
